At an EMA weather briefing today at 2:00 p.m., the following prediction was given for Thursday, March 5, 2015:

From approximately 2:00–5:00 a.m., the Shoals area is to receive freezing rain, followed by 2-3 hours of possible sleet.  Because of this prediction, we delaying opening school by two hours to ensure the safety of students and employees.

Dr. Womack and key leaders will reassess road conditions and the severity of the precipitation in the morning to see if we can have a day of instruction beginning after the 2-hour delay, or cancel school for the day.
