Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts, UNA Master's Degree in Education, UNA

Ms. Sierra Banks

I am a Certified Culinarian. I enjoy all things that involve food! I also love to garden and spend time with family and friends.

I received my B.S. in Culinary Arts from UNA in 2016 and my Master’s in Education from UNA in 2020. Prior to beginning my teaching career, I spent several years working in the food industry as a baker and caterer. I completed my internship here at Florence High School and fell in love with the Culinary Arts program. In 2021, I moved to Huntsville, AL to begin my teaching career at Columbia High School, teaching Family and Consumer Sciences. In 2022, I was blessed with the opportunity to return home and teach Culinary Arts at FHS.

The best part of my job is making connections with students and sparking joy through the art of cooking and sharing food. I am happy to be part of a wonderful Career Tech program that provides tremendous opportunities to the youth of Florence City.

"We all have different gifts according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith. If it is serving, then serve. If it is teaching, then teach." -Romans 12:6-7

Career and Technical Student Organization

    • Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences Education. It is the only career and technical in-school student organization with family as its central focus. Participation in national programs and chapter activities helps members become strong leaders in their families, careers and communities.

FCCLA is The Ultimate Leadership Experience. This organization gives students the tools they need to succeed whether they will go to college or enter the workforce upon graduation.
