Mrs. Danielle Wilkins

Hello! My name is Danielle Wilkins and I am the Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Florence Middle School. I teach 7th grade Teen Discoveries and 8th Grade Teen Connections. This is my second year at Florence City Schools. I graduated from the University of North Alabama in May of 2022 with my Bachelors in Secondary Education and Family and Consumer Sciences and will graduate in December of 2023 with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
My favorite part about teaching an introductory Family and Consumer Sciences course is being able to teach students the life skills that they will need when they are adults. I love giving students the opportunity to learn in a different way, and I love seeing the creativity come out in their projects.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences Education. It is the only career and technical in-school student organization with family as its central focus. Participation in national programs and chapter activities helps members become strong leaders in their families, careers and communities.

FCCLA is The Ultimate Leadership Experience. This organization gives students the tools they need to succeed whether they will go to college or enter the workforce upon graduation. In addition to learning valuable leadership skills, students have the opportunity to compete in state and national events, participate in community service activities, and travel around the United States to attend leadership conferences.

The FMS Chapter of FCCLA has completes many community service projects throughout the year, as well as competes in State and National competition in the spring and summer. This past year, FMS had 15 students compete at our State Leadership Conference in Montgomery, with 12 students placing in the top of their category, advancing to National competition in Denver, Colorado! This year, we hope to take more students to competition in Seattle, Washington!
