Welcome to Florence High School!

  • Mr. Kevin Wieseman has over 30 years in public education. He spent 25 years in the Huntsville City Schools System. While at Huntsville High School, Mr. Wieseman taught Biology I, Advance Biology I, Biology II, and American History. He served as head football coach from 2002-2010 as well as serving stints as assistant varsity baseball and wrestling coach. 2010, Mr. Wieseman was appointed the Director of Instructional Support for Huntsville City Schools. In 2012, Mr. Wieseman became the principal of Lee High School where he served until 2015. In the summer of 2015, he was named the Director of Athletics and Extracurricular Activities for Huntsville City Schools until his departure in 2017. Mr. Wieseman has been with Florence City Schools since August of 2017, serving as Principal at Florence Middle School and Principal at Florence High School. .

    Mr. Wieseman obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of North Alabama and a Master’s Degree from both Alabama A&M University in Biology and the University of Alabama in Educational Leadership. He completed his Ed.S. from the University of North Alabama in 2020. He fulfilled the state requirements while attending the Superintendent's Academy at the University of Alabama in the Fall of 2021. Mr. Wieseman is currently pursuing an EdD at Murray State University with an emphasis in Leadership. 

    Mr. Wieseman is married to Stephanie Wieseman, who recently retired as Assistant Superintendent of Sheffield City Schools. They have two children, Andy, who graduated from Florence High School (2021) and attends Murray State, and Will, who is a proud employee at the University of North Alabama.
