I am originally from Dothan, Alabama. I graduated from The University of Alabama in 2003 with a B.S. in Collaborative Special Education, then moved and began teaching in Nashville, TN. I met my husband, Doug, and returned to Alabama once we were married. We lived in Russellville before moving to Florence in 2008.

I have taught almost every grade level, served as an Inclusion teacher in Franklin County, as well as, a self-contained special education teacher in the Florence City School system since 2011. I earned my Masters in Educational Administration from the University of North Alabama in 2006 and my ED.S. In Teacher Leader in 2018 (also from UNA).

I enjoy being part of the Falcon Family in Florence City Schools. I am proud my two children are able to attend, and learn in such a student-centered school system.
