I began teaching in 2001. Since then, I have taught in both public and private schools in Georgia, Virginia, and Alabama. I now serve as the media specialist at Florence Middle School where I strive to promote reading and encourage a collaborative learning environment. I am especially proud of our makerspace which provides students with innovative tools and exciting technologies that support both educational goals and personal interests. 

I hold a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Auburn University, a Masters in Library Media from the University of West Georgia, an EdS with Teacher Leader certification from UNA, an Instructional Leader certification from UNA, and an EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama. 

When I am not working, my family keeps me very busy. My husband and I have four children. They are all involved in extracurricular activities, so most of my afternoons are spent running between ball fields and the dance studio. In my limited free time, I enjoy reading and skydiving.
