Born and raised in Lauderdale County, Alabama, I attended local schools where my favorite classroom job was organizing the shelves of the classroom library.
I have always enjoyed reading and still have my Schoastic book club copy of Ramona the Pest, which was the first chapter book that I read all by myself.
After graduating from Coffee High School, I earned my degree and teaching certification at the University of North Alabama. I taught 4th grade for six years, and though I enjoyed teaching all subjects, my favorite part of the day was reading aloud to the students so I went back to school to earn my library media specialist certification and a Masters of Library Service. I was hired as a media specialist in the Florence City Schools where I have been ever since!
When I am not shelving, purchasing, preparing or repairing library books, I enjoy reading (of course!), gardening, quilting, and playing with my dogs, Buddy and Charlie.
