Hello, My Name is Ms. Erika Huston! I will be your child’s 5th grade Math and Science teacher for this school year! This will be my 8th year teaching & my 8th year at Hibbett. I am very excited to make this year the best experience and school year yet! I moved to Florence in 2011 to attend UNA and have been here ever since. When moving here in 2011, I had absolutely no intentions of making Florence my permanent home, but I'm glad that God has placed me here.

I grew up in Macon, Georgia where I attended Brookdale Elementary School. I then attended Miller Middle School for 6th-8th grade before graduating from Hutchings Career Center in 2011. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary and Special Education from UNA in May of 2016. I completed my Master of Education degree from UNA in December of 2017 and my Ed.S in May of 2020 also from UNA. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in Rural Education from UWA.

I began my teaching career at Hibbett Intermediate School in August 2016. I feel that teaching is my calling and I love that I am able to do what I enjoy every day. Being a Florence Falcon has changed my life for the better and I could not imagine working and being anywhere else. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, family, and friends, going to church, reading, shopping, volunteering in the community, and watching Netflix in my PJ's! :)
