  • The Falcon Theatre Department competed Saturday, November 7th at the District Trumbauer competition in Decatur.

    -The Cast and Crew of “Wiley and the Hairy Man” received a SUPERIOR rating AND won Best Ensemble, Best Lighting, Best Technical Performance and Best Costumes. Also, SEVEN of the ELEVEN Cast Members were chosen for the All Star Cast!

    Alabama State Trumbauer Competition (Troy University, Troy, Alabama)

    - Khalia Reeder placed Second in Solo Acting Female Dramatic
    -Sara Maner placed Third in Solo Musical Female Dramatic
    -Jennifer Kilpatrick was named District Trumbauer Chair for Alabama State Trumbauer
    -Florence High School will host the competition in November 2016
    -Senior Emma O'Steen auditioned for scholarships and received a call back from all of the schools there!
    Alabama State Thespian Festival-
    -"Wiley and the Hairy Man" won the Chapter Select Showcase and will represent the state of Alabama at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska in June 2016 along with representatives from each of the 50 states.
    -Sara Maner and Amari Gamble served as Student Thespian Officers for the state of Alabama
    -Colin Stansky, Amari Gamble, Sara Maner, Gary Fuqua and Khalia Reeder received Superiors in their Individual Event Performances and will advance to the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska in June.

    Alabama Arts Advocacy Conference 2016

    -Sara Maner, Brandon Rieff, Amari Gamble, Colin Stansky and Khalia Reeder performed

    Senior Emma O'Steen was accepted into the Theatre program and received a scholarship to University of Montevallo.

    Senior Brandon Rieff was accepted into University of North Carolina School of the Arts Filmmaking Program.

    The Falcon Theatre Department hosted the first ever Little Miss Falcon Pageant for ages 3 thru grade 6. Current Miss UNA (and FHS grad) Jocelyn Barnes taught the students how to present themselves onstage and Homecoming Queen Madison Haney emceed the event. Falcon Theatre students escorted the contestants and worked backstage. This will become an annual event to help the department and teacher confidence and stage presence to young ladies.

    Falcon Theatre students attended the University of North Alabama's production of "Medea" and toured the Theatre Department last fall.

    Implemented the Falcon Theatre Booster Club run by parents

    Created an Improv Troupe for Falcon Theatre which will perform at this year's Dance Showcase
