I graduated from West Morgan High School in 2008 with honors and I graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a certification in Visual Arts. I was a part of the Marching Pride of North Alabama Color Guard for two years at the University of North Alabama and I did my student teaching in Muscle Shoals with the wonderful Ms. Lynch and at Florence High School with Florence High School’s very own Mr. Foster.

I went on to immediately teach a leave of absence at Cedar Ridge Middle School in Decatur, Alabama and one at Muscle Shoals High School in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. I taught elementary art as an itinerate teacher for five years in Huntsville City Schools at Morris Elementary, Ridgecrest Elementary, Farley Elementary, and Jones Valley Elementary.

 I joined the Falcon Family in the fall of 2019 where I now teach Photography 1-4, 2-D Design, Painting 2, Visual Arts 4, 3-D Design, and Sculpture 2 and had the opportunity to be the dance line sponsor for our Falcon Marching Band in 2019. I am hoping to add AP 2-D Design, 3-D Design, and Drawing to my course roster in the upcoming years and would also like to add an Art club or Art Honors Society to our visual arts program here at Florence High School.

 I have been married to my amazing husband Chris Harlow for nine years now.  We have two beautiful girls Sadie Ruth Harlow and Chloe Grace Harlow. I live in Decatur on the family farm with horses, cows, dogs, and one donkey named Alex.  I love all things art and love working with kids.  I decided that I want to become a teacher because I wanted to be able to share with the students all the opportunities that are available in the art industry (Architecture, fashion design, interior design, landscape design, website design, and so many more). I never knew that all of these opportunities were available to me until I moved out of state to a school with a great art program.  I want to be able to give the students here in Florence City Schools the same great art experience I received and I am very proud to be a part of the amazing things happening here with the FAFA program. I am eager to be able to help students prepare for their own career in the arts as they go on to college and into the world. I look forward to working with all of the wonderful students this year and hope that they take away some new knowledge of the arts.
