Cosmetology student Savannah Maduro places fifth nationally in SkillsUSA Nail Care Competition
ATLANTA — Florence High School is celebrating a significant academic achievement after one of its standout students, Savannah Maduro, placed fifth in the SkillsUSA Championships Nail Care Competition held in Atlanta in June. Competing against more than 150 schools from across the United States, Savannah’s performance has not only brought pride to her school but also placed a well-deserved spotlight on Florence High School’s exceptional Career Technical and Specialized Education Program.
The national competition, which drew top students from coast to coast, tested participants on a range of skills that reflect the rigor and relevance of modern career and technical education. Savannah’s placement in the top five showcases her talent, determination, and the strength of the instruction she has received through Florence High School’s innovative programs.
At the heart of that instruction is Mrs. Renee Wallace, a dedicated and dynamic educator who has guided students through the specialized curriculum with enthusiasm and expertise. Colleagues and students alike credit Mrs. Wallace’s mentorship as a key factor in the program’s success. Her ability to challenge, inspire, and prepare students for high-level performance continues to make a lasting impact.
