Florence FFA earns top honors at 97th state convention, wins Quiz Bowl and Advisor of the Year

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Florence City Schools FFA Chapter celebrated a standout week at the 97th Alabama FFA State Convention in Montgomery, showcasing dedication and excellence across multiple events. 

Florence Middle School's FFA team made history by capturing first place in the State Quiz Bowl contest, their first top finish since 2012, and the first first-place state banner since the middle school program reopened in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Florence High School FFA Chapter competed fiercely in the state aquaculture competition, demonstrating strong skill and commitment. The chapter also proudly recognized six students, Brice Howell, Amira McCoy, Angel Tran, Hattie Carter, Tess Stone, and Madalyn Overstreet, who earned state degrees this year.

Adding to the exciting awards, Florence High School Agriculture Instructor Matt Ball was honored as the 2024-2025 North District FFA Advisor of the Year, highlighting his exceptional leadership and mentorship.

The middle and high school chapters received the prestigious Silver National Chapter Award, underlining Florence's growing impact and continued success in FFA programs.

The Florence FFA's achievements this year reflect a thriving agricultural education community and a bright future ahead.
