Florence High's Sarah Bryant commits to Southeast Arkansas in final signing ceremony of semester
FLORENCE, Ala — In the last signing ceremony of the semester, senior softball player Sarah Bryant committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Southeast Arkansas College.
Surrounded by family, friends, and teammates, Bryant thanked everyone who has helped her along the way. "If I didn't have my mama, then I wouldn't have made it," she said. "She always dropped everything to make sure I got what I needed, even missing work so she could be at my games."
Bryant said she's played softball since she was eight and plans to continue honing her skills at Southeast Arkansas. "Just do as good as I can and take it one day at a time," she said.
Bryant didn't enroll in Florence High School until the second semester of her junior year—just one semester after the arrival of softball coach Heath Lovell—and said his support has been monumental. "It's been amazing; anything I need, he gives it to me," she said.
Bryant will graduate from Florence High School at 7 p.m. on Friday at Braly Stadium.
