Forest Hills robotics teams excel at VEX IQ Robotics Competition

FLORENCE, Ala. — Forest Hills Elementary School's robotics teams excelled at the VEX IQ Robotics Competition in January. The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation presents the VEX IQ Robotics Competition, providing elementary and middle school students with high-energy, open-ended robotics and research project challenges that enhance their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills through hands-on, student-centered learning.

Team 3437C, the Chromium RoboFalcons, received the Judges Award, which recognizes teams that demonstrate special attributes deserving of recognition. Judges cited the team's exemplary effort and perseverance throughout the event, as well as their professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication skills during the team interview. The team also stood out for its strong, student-centered approach.

Team 3437A, the Platinum RoboFalcons, placed second in the teamwork challenge matches, earning the second-highest score in the finals round based on match performance.

Team 3437D also advanced to the finals and finished sixth overall.

The teams' success reflects Florence City Schools' continued commitment to hands-on learning, problem-solving, and STEM education.
