Originally from Virginia, I have spent the majority of my life in Alabama's Renaissance City. I graduated from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, with a degree in English and then went to the University of Alabama to pursue a master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. After obtaining my English Language Arts teaching certification from the University of North Alabama, I began my teaching career at Florence High School. While teaching 10th grade English, 11th grade English, and Advanced Placement Language and Composition, I also had the privilege of coaching soccer and volleyball and being the junior class sponsor. I spent six years as a classroom teacher and then moved into administration. I have an Ed.S in Instructional Leadership from UNA and a doctorate from the University of Alabama. I love the Shoals area and am proud to be a Falcon!
