Extra-curricular activities abound here at Florence Freshman Center. Competitive academic teams include Science Olympiad, and the Scholars Bowl Team. Leadership and service opportunities are offered and encouraged in the Key Club, the Student Council, FCCLA, FFA National Junior Honor Society, and the yearbook staff. Chorus, marching band, cheerleading, and competitive athletics provide many opportunities for students to expand their physical talents, while developing lifelong skills concerning teamwork, responsibility, and personal relationships.
The Florence Freshman Center staff is both excited about the upcoming school year. Our situation is unique in that we get to serve a new slate of students each year. Each year we strive to establish a culture that promotes success and that further develops the skills necessary for success in high school. Throughout the year we closely monitors all available data related to each of our students. We use data meetings to collectively discuss this information, and to identify strategies that will promote mastery. In addition, we have student data days designed to ensure that each students is aware of their current academic status.
Each month the Freshman Center opens its doors for a monthly parent meeting to discuss upcoming events and address concerns. These meetings are tentatively scheduled for the 1st Thursday of each month. If you are available, please attend. The FFC Administration would also would like to have your email addresse to place in our email data base. Weekly emails will be sent out on Sunday Afternoons highlighting the events of the upcoming week. It takes a village to raise a child, and we appreciate the opportunity to share in the growth and maturing of yours.
You can email the principal, Mr. Darrin Lett, the assistant principal, Mrs. Jessica Byrd, or the counselor, Mrs. Kim Tittle.
