Welcome to Florence Middle School!

  • It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as Principal of Florence Middle School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this exceptional school. I have nineteen years of experience in education, beginning as a special education teacher and then transitioning into administration. I served as the assistant principal of FMS for eight years. I hold degrees from Athens State University, the University of North Alabama, and the University of Alabama. I am also an adjunct professor at the University of North Alabama. In 2022, I was named Alabama’s Assistant Principal of the Year. I have a son, Dorian, who is also a proud Falcon. As a parent and educator of Florence City Schools, I am amazed daily at the opportunities offered to our Falcons.

I have dedicated my career to creating a nurturing environment where adults and students are curious and excited about learning. I firmly believe that education has the power to transform lives, and I am committed to ensuring that every student who walks through our doors receives the support, guidance, and resources they need to thrive.

Positive school culture, high expectations, and creative problem-solving are qualities I bring to Florence Middle School. Education extends far beyond the boundaries of the classroom, and I am committed to helping students explore their passions, develop critical thinking, and engage in extracurricular activities. Whether it be through clubs, sports, arts, or community service, I believe these experiences, coupled with a strong academic foundation, provide invaluable opportunities for students.

Collaboration is at the heart of my leadership style. I value open communication and strong partnerships with our staff, students, parents, and community members. Together, we will work hand in hand to create a respectful and supportive environment. As our students develop through the phases of what it means to be Florence Falcon, middle school is the place where our Falcons learn to FLY! Together, let us build upon the rich transitions and achievements of our school while embracing new possibilities for innovation, excellence, and positive change.

I look forward to a fantastic year ahead!

    Go Falcons!
