Greetings!

My name is Michael South and I am the Principal of Hibbett Intermediate School (HIS).  I am very excited to work alongside my Assistant Principal Ms. Melanie Harris, our dedicated faculty and staff, our incoming 5th and 6th grade students, and our parents throughout the 2022-2023 school year!  We look forward to seeing you at HIS!  

The vision of Florence City School is to offer our students learning opportunities that give them “Tomorrow…Today.”  This ensures that all students learn at the highest level they ever have.  This will be the focus and center of all that we do at HIS.  We will strive to provide all students with educational experiences that prepare them for the next level while fostering their knowledge and interests in higher education or career paths. 

As a parent, former teacher, and longtime principal, I fully understand the high expectations all parents have for their children.  I look forward to working alongside you to help our students excel in all they do!  Let’s plant dreams in their hearts today as they look forward to their futures.
