I am Lorel Nix, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal here at Florence Middle School. With 13 years of experience in education, my passion lies in creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every student is learning in a safe school community.
I earned my Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of North Alabama and hold certifications in teacher and instructional leadership. Before becoming the assistant principal, I worked as the 7th grade school counselor at FMS, where I focused on helping students transition from their elementary school years to their secondary school years. I also helped support students' social and emotional learning through various programs and resources.
In my role as Assistant Principal, I am dedicated to supporting our students, teachers, and families. I believe in the power of collaboration and communication to foster a positive and dynamic learning environment. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to, student attendance, student behaviors, teacher support and parent liaison.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my three sons, who keep me very busy with all of their extracurricular activities, which help me stay connected and involved with our wonderful community.
I am excited to work together with all of you to ensure that each student at Florence Middle School has a successful and memorable school year. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or need assistance.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!
