Falcons Sign to Play at Next Level

  • December 15, 2021Florence High School Senior baseball player Camden Smith signed his National Letter of Intent to play collegiate baseball at the University of Valley Forge in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. 

    Camden joins fellow members of the 2022 Florence Baseball players Caleb Mahan (UAH), Noah Toney (Wallace State-Hanceville ), Charlie Cochran (North Alabama),

    The University of Valley Forge is a private university located in Phoenixville, PA, 8.8 miles from Valley Forge National Historic Park. Patriots Baseball are led by Head Coach Joseph Clancy, compete at the NCAA-DIII level and are members of the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

    November 10, 2021 - Senior Falcon baseball players Charlie Cochran, Caleb Mahan, and Noah Toney inked scholarships to play at the next level on Wednesday. Inside a packed library, the three joined family and friends in celebrating their accomplishments.

    Cochran, a 6-2, 215 pound, catcher that has been a stalwart in the Falcons battery over the past two seasons will stay in Florence and join a North Alabama program that signed seven players in the 2021 signing period.

    Mahan, a shortstop with great range, arm strength, and power at the plate, will take his talents to Huntsville as a member of the UAH Chargers program.

    Toney, known for his accomplishments on the mound, will join the pitching staff at Wallace State-Hanceville.

    In addition to signing their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday, all three were recognized for their academic achievements thru membership in the National Honor Society.

    The trio will begin their senior campaigns on the diamond for the Falcons in February.
