Florence High School Graduation parking and rain plans

FLORENCE, Ala. — The Florence High School Class of 2024 will graduate Friday evening at 7 at Braly Stadium. The high school released parking and shuttle information for families attending the ceremony.

Limited guest parking near the Royal Avenue Recreation Center is available on the center’s north and south sides. If weather permits, the Florence Middle School (FMS) baseball field will also be available for guest parking. The front parking lot of FMS and Coffee Gymnasium will only be available to graduates. Parking on the north side of FMS is only available to teachers. Accessible parking is located in the lot directly behind FMS. VIP parking with valid credentials is available at the Braly Stadium field gate entrance and next to the Royal Avenue Chevron station.

Shuttles will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Pickup will be at the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library, and shuttles will return throughout the evening. Additional parking for guests using the shuttle service will be at First Baptist Church on Wood Avenue.

Plans for Rain:

As rain chances increase for Friday, the Florence High School administration has a plan for alternative arrangements. If it rains, the event will be split into two ceremonies inside the Coffee Gymnasium in front of FMS. Students with last names beginning with A-I, including the top 5 percent, will graduate first at 6 p.m., followed by a second ceremony at 7:30 p.m. for students with last names beginning with J-Z graduating. Each student will receive ten tickets for each guest if the ceremony moves indoors. A final decision on the indoor ceremonies will be made by noon on Friday.

The administration plans to do everything it can to keep the graduation ceremony at Braly. There are no limits to the number of guests if the event remains at the stadium.
