FAFA students take center stage at Stanley Awards

FAFA students at Stanley Awards

FLORENCE, Ala. — The Florence Academy of Fine Arts (FAFA) celebrated multiple nominations and wins at the recent Stanley Awards at the Shoals Theatre. The cast and crew of "The Diviners" earned a nomination for Best High School Play, while the cast of "Bye, Bye Birdie" was nominated for Best High School Musical.

 

Two FAFA students brought home Stanley Awards for their performances in Falcon Theatre's production of "The Diviners;" Radford Scott won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a High School Play, and Davis Barnett won Best Performance by an Actor in a Lead Role in a High School Play.

In addition to these wins, several other FAFA students were recognized with nominations in various categories:

 

  • Lydia Ryan – Best Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role in a High School Play for "The Diviners."
  • Kristin Cooper – Best Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role in a High School Play for "Steel Magnolias."
  • Martha Powell – Best Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role in a High School Musical for "Bye, Bye Birdie."
  • Sydney Hunzicker – Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a High School Musical for "Bye, Bye Birdie."
  • Jessica Arias – Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a High School Play for "The Diviners."
