FCS K-12 Curriculum Director Jill Edwards named School Counselor Advocate of the Year

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Florence City Schools Director of K-12 Curriculum Jill Edwards is celebrating after receiving a prestigious award.

The Alabama School Counselor Association (ALSCA) held its annual awards luncheon in Montgomery Thursday afternoon. Edwards was named the School Counselor Advocate of the Year.

The ALSCA describes the School Counselor Advocate of the Year as a person or persons who have given extraordinary support for school counselors and/or school counseling programs; this support can be from a supervisor who operates in an administrative capacity in a K-12 school system or from school-based volunteer groups, such as parent-teacher associations, or this support can be community-based or can stem from political action.
