Forest Hills Peer Helpers honor law enforcement with appreciation breakfast
FLORENCE, Ala. — On Wednesday, January 8, Peer Helper students from Forest Hills Elementary School celebrated National Law Enforcement Day by hosting a special breakfast in honor of the Florence Police Department.
Peer Helpers is a student group led by counselors Ben Bradford and Kim Tittle. Throughout the school day, the students collaborated and planned the celebration, carefully selecting the resources needed to make the event a success. In addition to the breakfast, the students created a heartfelt video presentation to honor the officers for their dedication and service to the community.
FHES Principal Laurie Fowler expressed immense pride in the students’ efforts and highlighted the joy shared during the event.
“The officers were honored and excited to be with our students; they loved the conversation, breakfast, and special video,” Fowler said. “I was beyond proud of our students. They showed leadership, respect, and love by honoring our officers. I was also happy that our students got to see our officers in such a positive light”.
Florence City Schools would like to extend its gratitude to all law enforcement officers for their dedicated service and efforts in supporting and keeping the community safe.
