FLORENCE, Ala. — Florence High School has been ranked the 12th-best high school in Alabama, representing The Shoals and the state's northwest corner, according to a new Money Inc. report.

The report describes Florence High as a respected institution providing quality education with its comprehensive academic curriculum and numerous advanced placement courses. It also describes the school's focus on college and career readiness with Career, Technical, and Specialized Education programs.

Florence Falcons Athletics is recognized with different sports competing effectively at the state level and building solid reputations throughout Alabama. Additionally, the report states how the Florence Academy of Fine Arts and extracurriculars promote leadership development and exploration of new interests.

According to the report, the ranking schools are selected based on a consistent demonstration of excellence through measurable metrics like graduation rates, standardized test scores, college acceptance rates, and advanced placement participation.
