The weather has finally cooled and the temperature is dropping, as well as the race times. Our cross country team traveled to Palmer Park in Madison, Alabama on Saturday to compete in the last meet of the regular season.

Our boys started out the afternoon competing in the first race. We had 7 new personal best times! Kalen Robinson led his team and dominated by coming in 2nd overall out of 244 runners! Kalen set a new personal best time of 17:35. Ian Infanger came in second for our team taking the 17th overall place followed closely by John Brake who took the 21st spot. Next, 8th grader Riley Bozeman came in with a PR time of 19:28. Behind Riley came 7th grader Caleb Price who had a PR time of 19:58. Jackson Clark PR'd with a 20:09, Cosmo Phillips PR'd with a 20:10, and Grayson Abernathy and M.J. Dickerscheid both PR'd with a 20:50 to tie. Devin Gregory ran the 2nd race of his season after coming back from surgery, and Griffin Beasley ran his 1st race of the season after an injury back in August. Our boys won the 3rd place trophy, competing against 14 teams.

Our girls took to the starting line next. Composed mostly of JV runners, these girls showed incredible determination and pride. The Falcon girls' team had 5 runners in the top 20. Taylor Dickerscheid led the girls team to a 3rd place win. Taylor, taking 4th place overall, ran a PR time of 22:13. Next, Abigail Dickson came in 6th with a PR time of 22:21. Claire Dawson ran a PR time of 22:46 to take the 14th spot. Sydney Callahan came in 18th overall, while Anne Harris Poss who ran her first ever 5k race, came in 19 place. Lydia Galloway came in 24th place. Also running her first 5k race was Gracie Benson, who had a great time of 24:29. Rounding out the team was Michi Valsecchi who also had a personal best time.

For our last race of the day, the championship race, Mary Claire Ridgeway ran an amazing time of 18:44 to win overall! She ran the race alongside Megan Roth from Nashville, Tn and Grace Feltner from Murfreesboro, Tn. The three ran together the entire race until the last 400 meters, when Mary Claire decided enough was enough and left the other girls behind. This was an incredible race to watch.

We are so proud of each and everyone of these Falcon runners. Right now, all I can say is, BRING ON SECTIONALS because WE ARE READY!!
